How to Claim
You can search the Corporation’s unclaimed balances records using our online search tool. If you find a potential match and want to initiate an inquiry, you must first electronically submit a completed Contact Form to the Corporation. A link to the Contact Form is also provided on the search results page.
Once your Contact Form is received, a representative of the Corporation will contact you to verify the match and inform you of the documentation required to settle your claim.
If the claim is being made by (or on behalf of) an account holder
Please be prepared to provide documentation to confirm identity and prove entitlement to the balance, such as:
- original or certified true copies of identification showing name and date of birth
- proof that the claimant resided at the address provided to the Corporation by the credit union that transferred the unclaimed balance
- an account statement or passbook
If the claim is being made by an heir or representative of an estate
The Corporation may require you to provide the following information:
- original or certified true copies of legal documents proving that the claimant is an heir to or representative of the deceased’s estate
- whether another party may be entitled to the unclaimed balance
- proof that the deceased resided at the address provided to the Corporation by the credit union that transferred the unclaimed balance
- an account statement or passbook
If the claim is being made by a representative of a business or organization
Please be prepared to provide documentation to prove entitlement to the balance, such as:
- original or certified true copies of legal documentation certifying that the claimant represents the interests of the business or organization
- original or certified true copies of legal documentation confirming the existence and status of the business or organization
- proof that the business or organization was located at the address provided to the Corporation by the credit union that transferred the unclaimed balance
- an account statement or passbook
